Michael is a Partner at Mancini Carter, where he focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation and business disputes, real estate litigation, and commercial transactions. Michael joined Mancini Carter in January of 2019, bringing with him many years of successful litigation experience practicing in all Rhode Island courts, in addition to representing clients in various Massachusetts state and federal courts. Michael has successful jury and non-jury trial experience, including as lead counsel, and routinely represents clients in high-stakes and complex business and real property disputes.
In his practice, Michael has represented large corporate entities, shareholders, investors, real estate developers, corporate executives, condominium associations, commercial landlords, and other notable clients in Rhode Island and Massachusetts on such matters as business disputes, commercial litigation, breach of contract and unjust enrichment claims, specific performance claims, shareholder derivative suits, restraining orders and injunctions, partnership disputes, boundary and title disputes, adverse possession cases, fraud claims, employment disputes, construction litigation, and suits against municipalities and political subdivisions involving property rights and damage caused by negligence.
During his many years as a licensed title agent at his past three law firms, Michael has closed commercial transactions of varying sizes, including several multi-million dollar transactions, and has substantial experience in drafting and negotiating corporate contracts, loan documents, and documents related to real estate transactions.
Michael is admitted to practice law in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
Prior to joining Mancini Carter, Michael practiced primarily as a litigation attorney at a prominent Providence-based law firm for nearly four (4) years, after having previously worked at two (2) other Rhode Island law firms since 2010. Michael had previously practiced with John Mancini, Thomas Carter, and Nicholas Goodier from 2015 through 2017, where they developed the close working relationship and synergies which brought them together and now propel Mancini Carter forward.
